There was no electricity in Peeran for 18 hours
The working style and efficiency of the Electricity Board Junga was exposed when it took 18 hours to fix a fuse. It may be noted that in village Peeran at the end of Mashobra block, power was cut off last night at 8 o’clock due to a fuse blowing in the transformer. Despite informing the board officials, power could be restored only after 18 hours when the fuse was replaced. The former head of Peeran village Dayaram Verma, Atar Singh Thakur, Daulat Ram Mehta, Jabar Singh Thakur, Chanchal Verma, Chunni Lal Thakur, Ramgopal Thakur, Suresh Sharma, Pritam Singh Thakur and many other villagers allege that the consumers of the Panchayat are troubled by the poor electricity system. Due to the fuse blowing at least twice a week, people have to live in darkness. Due to this, all the electrical appliances in the houses stop working.
The people of Peeran village have demanded from the government that a technical employee of the electricity board be deployed in Peeran village so that in case of a fuse or any other minor fault in the transformer, the problem can be solved on the spot. It should be noted that to fix the fuse in this Panchayat, a lineman or technical employee has to come from 34 kilometers away from Koti.
It should be noted that the electricity subdivision Junga is facing a shortage of staff for the past year. A total of 17 posts are vacant including one post of assistant engineer and three posts of JE. The responsibility for 136 transformers installed in the field is on the shoulders of only 12 field employees, due to which sometimes it takes two days to replace a fuse.
