Under-19 sports competition for girl students begins in Rajgarh

170 girl athletes from 14 schools will showcase their talent on the sports field.
The Rajgarh Zone’s block-level Under-19 Girls’ Sports Competition was inaugurated on Sunday at the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Rajgarh. Around 170 female athletes from 14 schools in the Rajgarh Zone are showcasing their talents in various sports during this four-day competition.
Dinesh Arya, former president of the Nagar Panchayat Rajgarh, formally inaugurated the competition. The female athletes presented an impressive march past and saluted the chief guest. School Principal Prem Chand Chauhan honored the chief guest with a Himachali cap, a shawl, and a memento. Senior Vice President of the Pachhad Congress, Aman Thakur, was present as the special guest.
Chief guest Dinesh Arya, while addressing the students, said that sports hold special importance in student life. Sports foster physical, mental, and intellectual development in children. They also foster discipline, competition, hard work, and a sense of duty in students, which play a crucial role in achieving their goals in life.
Earlier, Principal Prem Chand Chauhan welcomed the chief guest and the participating students and provided detailed information about the competition. He explained that various sports, including kabaddi, volleyball, badminton, thoda, and chess, would be held during the competition.
In the opening matches of the competition, Rajgarh School performed brilliantly in Kho-Kho, securing first place and winning the trophy. In the thrilling volleyball matches, Shavga defeated Didag and Fagu defeated Chambidhar.
The principal said the competition will conclude on September 1. Former Assembly Speaker GR Musafir will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony, while Zila Parishad member Ritu Bala will be the special guest.
On this occasion, Nagar Panchayat Rajgarh President Vikram Jaildar, Shalana Panchayat Head Suresh Kumar, SMC Head Bhupendra Verma, Vice President Seema Thakur, Pachhad Congress officials Ajay Chauhan, Shubham Tomar, Jeevan Singh Tomar, Vijayendra Singh, Rajendra Chauhan former Principal along with physical teachers of various schools, students and other dignitaries were present.
