Rs .2.97 Cr spent on Totu Vegetable Market , matter is subjudice

Himachal Pradesh Government accepted in the state assembly that after passing sevenyears Vegetable Market Totu could not be completed after spending Rs 2.97 Crore in this project now matteris pending in the court over land despite.
Replying to a call attention motion brought under rule-62 by Congress member Vikramaditya Singh Agriculture Minister Kanwar Verander Singh said that stone of the market was laid on July 29, 2014 andForest Clearance was provided on May 7, 2018. The tender for the construction of the Market was floated bythe Agriculture Market Produce Corporation in 2019. The first tender of Rs 1.62 Cr was issued to a contractorRajesh Thakur however could not complete the work for  two years. 
The works was reassigned to other contractors and now Rs 2.97 Cr were spent on this. Minister said adding thatrecently SJVNL which run a cow shed on the same plot of lands went to court against the construction of SabjiMandi. SJVNL said that the State Forest Department handed over the piece of land and could not surrender the plot.
Minister said that Government now considering to array itself party in the matter to complete the work of construction ofVegetable market       
Cong member Vikramaditya Singh said that while attending Anokhi dali fair Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in 2019 has 
promised to complete the Totu Sabji Mandi within one year. He said that the department should honour the announcement ofChief Minister at least as it shows how effective the state government is to complete its promise.
Member also said that this market would not only help the farmers to sell their crops near their villages but it would decongest the traffic of Shimla market.
