Meteorological Department issues yellow alert for April 25 and 26 in Himachal
Himachal Pradesh is preparing for another round of dramatic weather as a fresh Western Disturbance is set to sweep across the Western Himalayas from April 23. Starting April 24, higher reaches of the state could see light snowfall and rain, while the entire state is expected to be drenched on April 25.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow weather warning for April 25 and 26, cautioning residents about thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in several districts. Showers are likely to continue in mid and high hills through April 27, narrowing the window for clear skies.
Interestingly, despite the looming storm, temperatures are expected to rise by 2°C to 3°C in the coming days. Over the past 24 hours, most of Himachal enjoyed bright sunshine, with minimum temperatures ranging between 1°C and 21°C, and maximums between 15°C and 38°C—slightly above normal.
For locals and tourists alike, the forecast means planning ahead: while the rains will refresh the hills, they may also disrupt travel and daily routines. As the state braces for the changing skies, residents are urged to stay alert and take precautions during the stormy spell.
