Women are becoming self-reliant through village organization : Lalita

A meeting of women from Aryavart and Saksham Village Organizations was held in the Mashobra Gram Panchayat of the Mashobra Block, chaired by Lalita Kumari, the Women’s Social Education Organizer. She informed the women about the Gender Resource Center, a key component of gender equality. She explained that under the GRC, ₹100 per village organization is being collected every month for women’s safety.
Lalita Kumari stated that women were given information about running small industries to strengthen their economic status. She stated that it is heartening to see women in rural areas rapidly moving towards entrepreneurship. Some women have opened dairy farms to produce milk, while a significant number are moving towards self-reliance by growing cash crops, i.e., vegetables. Additionally, some women have opened stalls selling household-based products and various decorative items made from pine leaves. She explained that women from the village organization are also exhibiting their products at renowned fairs across the state, increasing their income.
Apart from this, they were also told that the Rural Self-Employment Training Centre provides beauty parlor, computer courses and many other types of training to women so that they can become self-reliant.
On this occasion, Savita Negi LVDC, Parveen Verma Area Coordinator, Vaishali Thakur Mission Executive also gave information about various welfare schemes being implemented by the government for the socio-economic upliftment of women.
About 25 women including village organization officials Reena Kumari, Joshila Satya, Reena Thakur participated in the meeting.
