Young Innovators Shine at JUIT’s Undergraduate Symposium
Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) came alive on April 22 as first-year B.Tech students stepped into the spotlight during the two-day Annual Undergraduate Symposium. Designed by the Office of Dean (Research and Internationalization), Prof. Sudhir Syal, the event gave budding engineers a platform to showcase their creativity, research ideas, and prototypes.
From prediction models and CRISPR-based discussions to cancer research concepts, travel planning tools, and drone technologies, the symposium reflected the students’ early embrace of interdisciplinary thinking—especially with machine learning woven into many projects.
The atmosphere was that of a “live classroom,” with Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma engaging directly with students. Judges including Prof. P.K. Gupta, Prof. Jata Shankar, Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh, and Dr. Santu Baidya offered constructive feedback, helping participants refine their ideas further.
Coordinated by student leaders Devansh Kalia and Abhinandit Singh, the event wasn’t just about competition—it was about nurturing curiosity, encouraging research-oriented learning, and identifying talent that could strengthen JUIT’s research culture in the years ahead.
For the young innovators, it was more than a symposium—it was their first step into the world of discovery and problem-solving.
