Thick layer of frost drops mercury in Himachal Pradesh

Despite clear sky and mainly sunny weather Mercury plummet to season lowest on Thursday as  thick layer of frost mounts on the roads and landscape.

Indian Meteorological Department said that despite mainly dry and Sunny weather people took no respite from extremely cold wave conditions.

 Minimum temperature of most places in the high reaches was below freezing point and in minus.

Keylong and Kaza in Lahaul Spiti recorded minus 18 degrees and Minus 25  degrees, Kukumesri minus 14.2 degrees, Kalpa in minus 4.2 , tourist resort Narkanda minus 4.4, Manali minus 2 Kufri minus 1.8, Bharmour (Chamba ) minus two.,

Minimum temperature of Shimla was reeling below freezing point as it was minus 0.6 and 3.6 degrees below normal, Solan 0.8 Bhuntar airport 0.1, Jubberhati airport 3.2 Mandi 1.8 Chamba 2.6 ,Una 1.6 , and Kangra 2.6,   Dharmshala three each

Around 254 major roads and five  National Highway and 54 power lines are out of order due to recent snowfall in the state.125 roads and two National Highway are snowbound in Lahaul Spiti, 26 in Shimla , 41 road and two National Highway in Kullu and 37 in Chamba district.

Rescue operation to trace out a missing Chennai man Vetri Duraisamiy at Kashang Nullah in Kinnaur district by NDRF is going since last three days. Deputy commissioner Kinnaur also visited the spot on Wednesday to look after the rescue operation. On Sunday one person died one injured and one is missing when a invova SUV carrying three persons fell down in the Satluj river. 

Resident of Chennai Vetri Duraisamiy (45) is missing in the mishap the body of the victim could not trace out sofar. Vehicle found laying on the bank of river.
