CPI (M) condemns the notification regarding payment of arrears and DA to employees after implementation of new pay scale

Dr. Omkar Shad said that by issuing these two notifications, the state government is making fun of lakhs of employees. He said that lakhs of employees of the state have been waiting for their dues since 2016 and the recent notification issued by the government is ridiculous. For example, if an employee has dues of Rs. 2 lakhs, then he will get 1.5 percent of it i.e. only Rs. 3000. Rupees will be received in the month of March and the remaining amount will be given at the rate of 0.25 percent i.e. Rs 500 per month and accordingly the entire outstanding amount will be paid in more than 32 years. This decision of the government is completely wrong and condemnable.

Dr. Omkar Shad said that the dearness allowance of the state employees is also lagging behind that of other employees. DA of central employees has reached 50 percent but the state government is still far behind. Not only this, according to the second notification regarding DA, if the dues of DS from July 2022 to March 2024 of an employee is Rs 30,000, then he will get Rs 450 per month at the rate of 1.50 percent and it will take about 66 months. The party demands that the arrears towards DA of 4 percent from 1.1.2023 and 4 percent from 1.7.2023 should also be paid immediately.

Dr. Omkar Shad said that CPI (M) demands that the government should not make fun of the employees in this way and should pay their arrears in lump sum and not in pieces. This will increase the anger among the employees because the arrears which are being paid in pieces. If the government is talking about giving, then an employee will not be able to receive this amount during his lifetime. The party said that who is advising on such schemes, the government should also review this. These are completely anti-employee decisions and should be immediately withdrawn.
