Congress former minister Harsh Mahajan joins BJP

The working Congress president and former Cabinet.  Minister Harsh Mahajan quitted the Congress party and joined the ruling BJP today , at New Delhi in the presence of senior BJP leaders .    Mahajan considered close to late CM Virbhdra Singh and perhaps was the reason was elected working president in May this year .  Earlier another working president Pawan Kajal along with few others had joined the Saffron party.  Even sitting LMA Lakhwinder Rana joined the ruling party at the same time. In social media link shared live by the State BJP unit , of a media interaction , it was stated that Mahajan , has joined BJP because of being impressed by the policies of Prime Minister Narinder Modi . The spokesperson of the BJP , while welcoming the former Congress leader stated , that it was a matter of happiness that Mahajan who is an important personality is joining the BJP family . Harsh Mahajan who hails from Chamba district of the State, has remained Cabinet minister in the HP Government from 2003-2008. He has been elected thrice in the state assembly by winning consecutively in 1993 , 1998 and 2003. Afterwards he gave away electoral politics , due to personal reasons and has been serving the grand old party at various positions . Mahajan holds family legacy in politics. He is son of Desh Raj Mahajan, who speaker of HP assembly and has served as cabinet minister.
