Tabla Summer Camp 2026 Concludes on a High Note at Gurukul Dharech

The five-day Tabla Summer Camp 2026 wrapped up on Wednesday at the serene Gurukul in Dharech, leaving participants inspired and musically enriched. The camp brought together around 35 students from across India and abroad, all eager to deepen their understanding of tabla and Indian classical music.

Guided by renowned tabla maestro Vikram Gandharva, the camp offered much more than just technical training. Students immersed themselves in the finer nuances of rhythm, styles of playing, stage performance, and disciplined practice. Equally important, they experienced the deeper values that music demands—dedication, focus, and a lifelong commitment to learning.

“The idea was not just to teach tabla, but to instill a sense of respect for music and the guru-shishya tradition,” Gandharva shared. Throughout the camp, participants explored different rhythmic patterns and techniques while gaining first-hand insight into the rich heritage of Indian classical music.

Adding to the experience, several distinguished artists visited the camp. Classical vocalist Ritesh from Delhi and renowned flautist Haridutt Bhardwaj from Himachal Pradesh interacted with students, sharing their journeys and performing for them. Their presence proved to be a highlight, inspiring young learners to pursue music with passion and perseverance.

Participants described the camp as a “transformative experience,” noting how the peaceful, nature-rich surroundings of Gurukul Dharech enhanced their learning. The institution, known for preserving and promoting Indian music, culture, and the traditional guru-disciple system, once again lived up to its reputation as a nurturing space for artistic and spiritual growth.

As the camp concluded in a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere, it served as a reminder of music’s unique ability to bring people together—transcending borders, languages, and cultures. For everyone involved, Tabla Summer Camp 2026 was not just a workshop, but a memorable journey into the soul of Indian classical music.
