Angel represented Peeran School in the national level Scouts and Guides program
Angel Thakur, a student of class VIII of Government Senior Secondary School Peeran, has brought laurels to her parents and school by participating in the national level programme organised on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of Bharat Scouts and Guides at Manaparai in Trichy district of Tamil Nadu. For the first time in the history of this school, this student has got the opportunity to participate in a national level programme.
Guide Captain Sulekha Bushehri, who accompanied the children from Himachal to this program, said that 16 children of Scouts and Guides were selected from the schools of Shimla district on the basis of their ability and activeness. Among them, there were 10 Scouts and 6 Guides. Apart from this, Scout Master Vikas Kashyap was also present. She said that on completion of 75 years of establishment of Bharat Scouts and Guides, the Government of India organized Diamond Jubilee Jamboree Grade Program in Manaparai, Tamil Nadu, in which about 25 thousand Scouts and Guides from schools across the country participated. In this seven-day function, the students were given information on many topics including skill based activities, adventure activities, march past, cultural activities. She said that this function proved to be very beneficial for the children.
Deputy Director of Education and District Chief Commissioner of Scouts and Guides, Lekh Raj Sharma said that such activities at national level are essential for all-round development of children which is helpful in creating empowered youth for becoming a developed India.
Shimla District Scouts and Guides District Secretary Lakshmi Negi, Commissioner Pankaj Sharma, Harish Sharma, Satish Chauhan, Aarti Chauhan, Rajni Sharma and other officials congratulated the students on the successful organization of the Scouts and Guides.
