Himachal’s Cricket Carnival Returns: Pro HPCL Season 4
Cricket fever is back in Himachal Pradesh as the state’s biggest league, Pro HPCL, gears up for its fourth and most competitive season yet. With over 600 players registering, the excitement is palpable across districts.
Nearly 20 franchise teams will battle it out, representing different regions of the state. Adding star power, national-level players like Rishi Dhawan will feature, with Dhawan set to play for the Shimla Royals.
The league isn’t just about passion—it’s about professionalism too. Player trials and auctions will follow registrations, with around ₹30 lakh distributed among players. The prize pool has swelled to ₹60 lakh, with the champions taking home ₹14 lakh and the runners-up ₹7 lakh. Even semi-finalists and standout performers will be rewarded handsomely.
From humble beginnings in Bharari (Shimla) to Mohali and Panchkula in later seasons, Pro HPCL has steadily grown. This year, the action shifts to a newly built cricket ground in Shimla, developed by three young visionaries—a proud moment for the state’s sporting infrastructure.
League founder Ajay Thakur summed it up best: “Our aim is to give Himachal’s players a strong, professional platform. Hosting the league at a dedicated ground in Shimla is a matter of pride and a step toward shaping the future of cricket here.”
