Himachal to Hold JBT Teacher Recruitment Exams: 17,000+ Applicants Compete for 600 Posts

The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA) has released the schedule for computer-based tests (CBT) to recruit 600 Junior Basic Training (JBT) teachers across the state. The exams will take place from February 25 to 27, drawing strong interest with 17,181 candidates applying for the posts.

This announcement follows the commission’s recent large-scale recruitment exams for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs). Alongside JBT recruitment, the Ayog will also conduct exams for Statistical Assistants in the Land Records Department on February 18.

HPRCA Secretary Dr. Vikram Mahajan confirmed that admit cards will be available about a week before the exam on the official website, hprca.hp.gov.in, with roll numbers and exam centre details also sent via SMS.

The 600 JBT vacancies will be distributed across all 12 districts under the Job Trainee Policy. Mandi tops the list with 106 posts, followed by Kangra (102) and Shimla (76). Other districts include Sirmaur (57), Solan (56), Chamba (54), Una (41), Bilaspur (34), Kullu (30), Hamirpur (28), Lahaul-Spiti (11), and Kinnaur (5).
