Himachali Folk Star Hansraj Raghuvanshi Faces Death Threats in Chilling Extortion Plot

A shadow of fear has fallen over the world of Himachali folk music, as beloved singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi, the voice behind the viral devotional hit “Mera Bhola Hai Bhandari,” has become the target of a terrifying extortion racket, with his family threatened with death.

The tranquil life of the Mangal-based singer and his family was shattered by a series of threatening phone calls and WhatsApp messages. The unknown caller, making chilling demands, issued an ultimatum: pay a ransom of ₹15 lakh or face fatal consequences.

In a disturbing twist, the caller allegedly identified himself as Rahul Kumar Nagde from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, and brazenly claimed to be an associate of the notorious gangs led by Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. He used this alleged connection as a tool of intimidation, threatening not only Raghuvanshi but also his wife, mother, and team members.

This isn’t a story of a completely random attack. According to the police complaint, the paths of the accused and the singer first crossed in a place of peace—the Shri Mahakal Temple in Ujjain back in 2021-22. That brief encounter has now taken a dark and threatening turn.

Seeking protection, a formal complaint was filed by the singer’s personal security guard, Vijay Kataria, leading the Zirakpur police to register a case and launch a full investigation.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and the artist fraternity, raising serious concerns about the safety of public figures. For now, a family known for spreading devotion through music is living under the threat of violence, as authorities work to unravel the truth behind these alarming threats. Further reports are awaited on this news item.
