HPUTA unanimously elected the new Executive Body

The General Body Meeting of the Himachal Pradesh University Teachers’ Association
(HPUTA) was held today at 2:30 PM in the Seminar Hall of the Department of Life Long
Learning, H.P. University, as per the notification issued on 29th September 2025 by the
General Secretary, Dr. Y.S. Hartta.
At the outset, Dr. Hartta welcomed all the members and presented the report of HPUTA. The
meeting was then addressed by Prof. J.R. Sharma, Prof. Devinder Sharma, and Prof. Raj
Kumar, along with other senior professors, who spoke about the legacy and history of
HPUTA. They also highlighted the major achievements and milestones accomplished by
HPUTA members over the years.
Dr. Mahender Singh Thakur, President of HPUTA, addressed the gathering and expressed his
gratitude to all members for their support, cooperation, and affection during the tenure of the
outgoing HPUTA body. With the consent of the house, Dr. Thakur formally dissolved the
existing body and announced fresh elections.
Prof. Raj Kumar was unanimously appointed as the Returning Officer to conduct the
elections. Subsequently, the members of HPUTA unanimously elected the following as the
new Executive Body of HPUTA:
