Auckland House School Marks Senior Section Speech Day with Splendour and Spirit
Auckland House School, Shimla, resonated with pride and celebration as it hosted its Senior Section Speech Day, a hallmark event in the institution’s calendar. The occasion was graced by Prof. Mahavir Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, who presided as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony began on a note of reverence with the Hymn “Land of Our Birth”, followed by the Principal’s Report presented by Mrs. Smaraki Samantaroy, encapsulating the school’s academic progress and landmark achievements. Head Girl, Rehmat Bola, in her report, reflected on the journey of the student body and the values that guide them.
In his inspiring address, Prof. Singh lauded the school’s commitment to holistic education and urged students to embrace excellence with humility. He also presented prizes and trophies to achievers across academics, sports, and co-curricular pursuits, applauding their dedication.
Adding colour and creativity, the Variety Entertainment Programme enthralled the audience with a rich mix of theatre, music, and dance which began with the Opening Hymn “Oceans”. The English play “Ralph Roister Doister” and the Hindi play “Sapno Ki Udaan” showcased the students’ acting prowess, while performances like the choir renditions “Words” and “Photograph,” the vibrant dance “Mahua Jhare,” the graceful Indian classical presentation “Sakal Ban”, the Piano Recital and Indian Music Orchestra drew admiration. A special highlight was the school band SHELZ, whose spirited performance of “Summer of ’69” electrified the gathering.
The event concluded with the School Song, leaving behind an atmosphere of pride, joy, and inspiration. The day stood as a testimony to the school’s tradition of nurturing talent, discipline, and leadership.
