National Nutrition Month will be celebrated in September

National Nutrition Month will once again be celebrated in September under the Nutrition Campaign. Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh announced that various nutrition-related awareness activities will take place in District Hamirpur throughout the month. These activities will involve the Women and Child Development Department, Health Department, Ayurveda, Social Justice and Empowerment, Education, Rural Development and Panchayatiraj, Information and Public Relations, Youth Services, Sports, Labor, Water Power, Agriculture, and other departments.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that a comprehensive campaign will be conducted to investigate, treat, and raise awareness about anemia. A detailed schedule has been prepared for activities such as infant health checks and monitoring, breastfeeding, nutritional diet education, and healthy child competitions. Schools and Anganwadi centres will host sports competitions, toy competitions, and other events for children under the theme ‘Nutrition Bhi, Education Bhi’. The health of pregnant women and infants will be tracked using the nutrition tracker. The ‘Ek Tree Ma Ke Naam’ Plantation Campaign is also part of the Nutrition Month activities.

Additional attractions of Nutrition Month will include water conservation efforts, drinking water hygiene, nutrition distribution, yoga camps, traditional nutritious dishes, fat cereal recipes, cycle rallies, morning ferries, and other awareness activities.

Deputy Commissioner Singh emphasized the importance of proper nutrition for healthy living, particularly for children and women, to protect them from serious diseases. September is celebrated as Nutrition Month to raise awareness among the general public. He also urged all concerned departments and the public to participate actively in the Nutrition Month activities.
