Industries Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan has said that Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur should not try to become an advocate of government employees as the government employees remember well who had challenged them to contest elections for their old pension. Who released water cannons on them for agitating on old pension and who got the government employees beaten with police batons. In the arrogance of the post of Chief Minister, Jairam Thakur had said in the Assembly that if government employees want a pension, then contest elections. He said that the Congress government in Rajasthan gave old pension to the employees and as soon as the BJP government was formed, the old pension was stopped. This is the anti-employee face of BJP.
Harsh Vardhan Chauhan said that the Congress government is the true well-wisher of the employees and in the very first cabinet meeting after coming to power, the Congress government provided old pension to 1.36 lakh employees. Apart from this, the Congress government has also given seven percent dearness allowance during its tenure of 1.25 years. The Congress government has increased the diet money of police employees five times to Rs 1000. He said that the Congress government has taken care of the employees as well as the pensioners. The Congress government has given financial benefits ranging from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh to pensioners. The Congress government has paid 35 percent arrears to pensioners above 75 years of age, 20 percent to pensioners between 70-75 years, 18 percent to pensioners of 65-70 years and 15 percent to pensioners up to 65 years. .
The Industries Minister said that orders to pay the entire arrears to the dependents of pensioners and family pensioners who have died have been given on March 13, 2024. He said that as the economic condition of the state improves, the Congress government will provide financial benefits to the government employees. He said that Jairam government has given 20 thousand government jobs in five years, whereas the Congress government has given 22 thousand jobs in just one year.
The Industries Minister said that BJP leaders are only experts in lying. Today, Himachal BJP leaders are putting pressure on the Central Government to get Rs 9000 crore of NPS stuck. BJP’s job is only to create obstacles. BJP leaders are also putting pressure on the Election Commission to stop the pension of Rs 1500 for women. Therefore, BJP leaders should apologize to the people of the state.
