Tourism industry provides self-employment opportunities in Sirmaur
Sirmaur district has immense tourism potential and in the last few years, there has been a lot of progress in the tourism sector, which has provided self-employment opportunities to the people at their doorstep. This was stated by Industry and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan while addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the Jaildar Fuel Outlet of the new petrol pump of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited in Rajgarh on Saturday.
The Minister stated that Sirmaur district is considered the best in Himachal Pradesh for hospitality. Its culture, civilization, dress, customs, and climate remain rich even in the changing environment. He emphasized that the younger generation must step forward to preserve the inherited cultural traditions. He noted that it is heartening to note that many businessmen from Sirmaur district have leased approximately 40 percent of the hotels in Shimla and are doing well. Furthermore, renowned businessmen from the country have opened their hotels from Kumharhatti to Saranh, boosting tourism in the region.
He said that in the past, Sirmaur was known as the most backward district in the state, but now it is emerging as a model of development in the state. He said that numerous administrative and other officials from Sirmaur hold high positions in the state, and in the near future, approximately 40 percent of the senior administrative and police officers will serve in high positions in the state.
The Minister said that Rajgarh is known as the Peach Valley in the country. As a result of the efforts of Dr. Y.S. Parmar, Rajgarh has seen significant development in the field of horticulture, which is a matter of pride. He added that many high-ranking officials in the country have established their gardens in Rajgarh’s Habban Valley.
The Minister noted that in the past, petrol pumps were few and far between, and setting up a petrol pump was considered a big business. Currently, with the exponential increase in vehicle numbers, the opening of petrol pumps at various locations has provided convenience to vehicle owners. He extended his best wishes to Neeraj Chauhan, owner of Jaildar Fuel Petrol Pump, for starting his business.
Harshvardhan Chauhan said that social events should never be attended by political views, as it is against morality. He said that social gatherings are attended by people from all parties and classes, and it is not appropriate to express political views on such occasions.
On this occasion, the organizers honoured the Industry Minister by presenting him a shawl, Himachali cap and a memento.
