To give more teeth anti-drug use HP to amend NDPS Act: CM

Himachal Pradesh Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced today that his government is working on a new anti-drug legislation to give more teeth to existing provision and make it more stringent. Addressing his first Conference at state government guest House Peterhoff this afternoon Chief minister informed media person that government are concerned about increasing mence of drug mafia which flourished in the state to level ruining many talented young man. He said that during upcoming three days Vidhansabha winter session likely to be held at Dharmshala soon Goverment may table a new act to make the NDPS Act more stringent. He said that provision of acts are not detterent to curb its use and many youth are ruinning their life after becoming victim of its use. Mr Sukhu said that government is committed to provide Old Pension Scheme and after ensuring funds for the Election promise Goverment would announced it in first council of ministers meeting. He said that induction of council of ministers to be finalized soon with consulting party senior leader of AICC. He said that state government would discuss with centre to choke out Covid threat and state would implement the instructions accordingly.
