Rising Concern Over Exam Irregularities Sparks Statewide Protest Call

Amid growing anxiety among students and parents, the Congress party has called for a collective voice against alleged irregularities in major national examinations. Responding to concerns over the CBSE evaluation process and the NEET paper leak controversy, State Congress President Vinay Kumar has urged district leaders across the state to submit memorandums on June 1 or 2.

The move follows a directive from the All India Congress Committee, aiming to highlight what the party describes as serious lapses in safeguarding the integrity of the country’s examination system. District presidents have been asked to route their memorandums through their respective Deputy Commissioners, addressing them to the President of India.

Vinod Zinta, the party’s General Secretary (Organisation), expressed concern over the scale of the issue. He pointed out that nearly 24 lakh (2.4 million) students appeared for the NEET exam this year, and the reported paper leak and evaluation irregularities have left many feeling uncertain and stressed. For countless families, these exams represent years of hard work and hope, making such disruptions deeply unsettling.

“There is a growing lack of trust in how these crucial exams are being conducted,” Zinta noted, adding that repeated incidents have raised questions about transparency and fairness. According to him, these issues have shaken the confidence of both students and their parents, who rely on these systems to be credible and secure.

The party has also criticised the Centre’s handling of the situation, alleging that instead of addressing the concerns directly, attention is being diverted away from the issue. Calling for accountability, leaders have asked party workers to come together during the memorandum submissions to amplify the concerns of students and ensure their voices are heard.

At its core, the protest reflects a larger sentiment—one shared by many young aspirants across the country—that their efforts and futures deserve a system they can trust.
