Mischievous mongers book for spreading fake new of demise of former CM

Himachal Pradesh Police registered an FIR against some mischief mongers for spreading fake news about the demise of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister at Solan recently.
A press release issued here today said that social media platforms are meant for maintaining social relations and information sharing. However it has been observed that social media is being used by several people to spread fake news and to stalk or malign others.
The police said that they have warned the users to refrain from such activities failing to which legal action could be initiated against them under the IT Act and IPC which entail strict punishment including imprisonment.
