Lions Club Shimla Organizes Successful Blood Donation Camp to Strengthen Community Health
In a remarkable effort to serve the community and address critical healthcare needs, the Lions Club Shimla, in collaboration with the District Red Cross Society, organized a Blood Donation Camp at the Ridge (Rain Shelter), Shimla. The event aimed to save lives and ensure the safety and well-being of the local community.
The camp was inaugurated by Ms. Jyoti Rana, ADM (Law & Order), Shimla, who was warmly welcomed with bouquets by the Lions Club team. The event saw overwhelming participation from the public, including tourists, reflecting the spirit of generosity and community service. A team of medical professionals led by Dr. Kanchan Singh and staff from Kamla Nehru Hospital, Shimla, collected 25 units of blood during the camp.
Lions Club Shimla President, Lion Man Mohan Verma, expressed his gratitude to the donors and emphasized the importance of such initiatives. “Blood donation is a noble act that can save lives. We are committed to organizing such camps regularly to bridge the gap in blood supply at hospitals in Shimla,” he said. Donors were provided with nutritious refreshments and certificates to honor their selfless contribution.
The Lions Club Shimla has a long-standing tradition of organizing welfare initiatives, including health check-up camps and eye check-up camps, to address the healthcare needs of the community. This blood donation camp is another step in their ongoing mission to make a positive impact on society.
The event was made possible through the collective efforts of Lions Club members, including Lion Kapil Sood (Project Chairperson), Lion M.K. Sharma (Secretary), Lion C.L. Sankhyan (Treasurer), Lion Ravi Sood, Lion Sufal Sood, Lion Daleep Kumar, and Lion Umesh Sood (PRO). The District Red Cross Society was represented by Mr. Sanjeev (State Secretary), Mr. Hemant (District Secretary), and other dedicated representatives who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the camp.
