HPTDC’s New Chapter: Innovation, Partnerships, and a Taste of Himachal Hospitality

HPTDC Partners with IRCTC to Develop Travel Packages

The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has scripted a success story in 2024–25, earning ₹108.67 crore in revenue while reinventing itself with fresh initiatives and modern upgrades. With 56 hotels and restaurants under its wing, the corporation is not just offering stays—it’s offering experiences rooted in Himachal’s warmth and hospitality.

To make travel smoother and more rewarding, HPTDC has tied up with IRCTC and is planning to launch a platinum card for frequent travelers, premium clients, and institutions. In another forward-looking move, it is preparing to step into the foreign exchange business, setting up money exchange facilities at its marketing offices once approvals from the Reserve Bank of India are secured.

Partnerships have played a big role in this transformation. By joining hands with MakeMyTrip (MMT), HPTDC has expanded its digital presence, securing an advance revenue of ₹2 crore. Its units have also signed 197 MoUs with private and government organizations, generating profits of ₹1.1 crore.

Closer to home, HPTDC has embraced the food delivery revolution, tying up with Swiggy and Zomato in Shimla, Dharamsala, Palampur, Manali, and Rampur. And for those who prefer dining in style, its new outdoor catering services for corporate events and private functions have already brought in ₹99 lakh.

Together, these steps reflect a larger vision: blending tradition with innovation, and ensuring that Himachal’s hospitality continues to thrive in a competitive tourism landscape.
