Himachal will receive an amount of Rs 10351.82 crore from central revenue: Malhotra
Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra while addressing a press conference shared the details of the first budget of Modi 3 with everyone.
The Union Minister of State described the Union Budget as the path to developed India and said that this budget should be seen by combining the interim budget and the general budget.
Harsh said that Himachal has also got a lot in this budget and Himachal’s name was mentioned in the Union Budget. He said that the state has benefited a lot in terms of infrastructure, where a provision of Rs 11 lakh 11 thousand crore has been made for infrastructure across the country which is 3.4% of the country’s GDP. Work is going on on many state highways in Himachal too, all these projects will get a big boost in this budget. In terms of highways, work is going on on Pathankot-Mandi Rs 10067 crore, Mataur-Shimla Rs 10512 crore, Kiratpur-Mandi-Kullu-Manali Rs 13784 crore, Pinjore-Baddi-Nalagarh Rs 1692 crore, Parwanoo-Solan-Kaithlighat-Shimla Rs 7632 crore.
He said that Himachal will receive an amount of Rs 10351.82 crore from the central income, which is quite noteworthy.
Harsh Malhotra said that similarly, in terms of tunnels, historic works of 5 tunnels worth Rs 2472 crore have been done on Pathankot-Mandi route, 3 tunnels worth Rs 1747 crore on Matour-Shimla, 4 tunnels worth Rs 5632 crore on Kiratpur-Mandi-Kullu-Manali, 4 tunnels worth Rs 1231 crore on Parwanoo-Solan-Kaithlighat-Shimla. All these projects will get a boost in terms of budget.
The Minister of State said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the martyrs on the auspicious occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas Silver Jubilee celebrations at Drass-Kargil in Ladakh. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Shinkula Tunnel. The 4.1 km long twin-tube tunnel is being constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) at the Shinkula Pass at an altitude of 15,800 feet on the Nimmu-Padam-Darcha road at a cost of Rs 1,681 crore. This tunnel will connect Lahaul in Himachal and Zanskar region of Ladakh. This tunnel was approved by the PM-led Cabinet Committee on Security in 2023.
He said that Himachal has got a big budget in the railway budget in which Himachal’s railway projects got Rs 2698 crore, in which the work of Bhanupalli-Bilaspur, Nangal Talwara and Chandigarh-Baddi railway line will get speed. Shimla, Palampur, Baijnath Paprola and Amb-Andaura will become world class railway stations. Chandigarh-Baddi railway line-300 crores, Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Vari railway line-1700 crores, Nangal Dam-Talwara-500 crores, other projects-198 crores. The budget released for railway development in Himachal Pradesh is 25 times more than the previous UPA government. This will strengthen the railway infrastructure in Himachal. Except for narrow gauge, the railways in Himachal have completed 100 percent electrification work. Four stations in the state including Shimla are being built on the basis of world class standards. Four railway stations in Himachal Pradesh should be made world class railway stations. Amb-Andaura, Baijnath Paprola, Palampur, Shimla have been included in these.
He said Himachal will also benefit greatly from getting ₹1.5 lakh crore as long-term interest-free loan to the states to aid resource allocation.
The Union Minister of State also mentioned the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana under which Phase IV of PMGSY will be launched to provide all-weather road connectivity to 25,000 rural habitations in the country. Himachal had received Rs 2700 crore in the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase III and additional funds would be received soon.
He also mentioned the disaster and said that Himachal was given Rs. 1782 crore for immediate disaster relief, Rs. 1100 crore for MNREGA and 11 thousand houses were given by the Centre. The Central Government has always stood shoulder to shoulder with Himachal.
