Himachal Vidhan Sabha Refutes Recruitment Irregularity Allegations
The Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Secretariat has strongly dismissed allegations of irregularities in recent recruitments, calling them baseless and misleading. In an official press release, a spokesperson clarified that certain media reports and social media posts spreading such claims are factually incorrect and unfortunate.
The spokesperson emphasized that recruitments in the Legislative Assembly Secretariat follow the same procedures as those in institutions like the Raj Bhavan, High Court, and State Public Service Commission. All appointments have been made strictly according to the established rules, reservation policies, and Supreme Court directives, with no deviations in the process.
Providing a district-wise breakdown of past and current appointments, the Secretariat highlighted that candidates from various districts have been selected based on merit and eligibility. Since the establishment of the Legislative Assembly, appointments have been made across multiple regions, including:
- Previous Appointments: Shimla (37), Sirmaur (11), Bilaspur (3), Hamirpur (7), Kangra (36), Una (3), Chamba (5), Mandi (49), Kinnaur (1), Solan (14), Kullu (1), Uttarakhand (2), and Chandigarh (1).
- Recent Appointments: Shimla (2), Sirmaur (2), Bilaspur (1), Hamirpur (7), Kangra (1), Una (1), Chamba (15), Mandi (2), and Lahaul-Spiti (1).
Addressing concerns raised in the public domain, the spokesperson underscored that the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly holds a constitutional position. Any unfounded accusations made through media or social media against such a post could be seen as an attack on its dignity and a breach of privilege, warned the official statement.
