Himachal Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board approves Green Market at Ghumarwin

A meeting of the Himachal Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Kuldeep Singh Pathania. During the meeting, it was decided to construct a Green Market in Ghumarwin of Bilaspur district.

The Board also decided to facilitate inter-state trade through e-NAM by recognizing trade licences issued by other states and issuing digital licences within a time-bound manner. This will enable farmers to receive remunerative prices for their produce and facilitate prompt payment.

The Board decided to authorize those markets for different types of trade where business activities are not running smoothly.

A proposal to constitute a committee was also passed with the objective of providing a promotion channel to employees.

For the smooth functioning of the State Agricultural Marketing Board and the 10 Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) in the state, it was decided to fill one post of Assistant Secretary, three posts of Junior Office Assistant (Accounts), and 13 posts of Junior Office Assistant (Information and Technology) on a job trainee basis.

The Board also decided to create two posts of Superintendent, Class-I, for the Board office, six posts of Superintendent class-2 and six posts of Senior Assistant for the offices of the Agricultural Produce Market Committees.

It was further decided to construct accommodation in each district for the convenience of employees working on a contractual and daily-wage basis under the State Agricultural Marketing Board and the Agricultural Produce Market Committees.

For keeping various yards of the Agricultural Produce Market Committees clean and ensuring proper waste management, the Board decided to get a pre-feasibility study conducted by COSAMB.

The Board also decided that the expenditure incurred on boarding and lodging of officers and employees of the State Agricultural Marketing Board and Agricultural Produce Market Committees during training would be borne by the Board and the respective Agricultural Produce Market Committees.

Administrative and financial approval was also accorded for various construction works in the markets across the state.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Agriculture C. Paulrasu, Advisor Narender Thakur, non-official members Akshay Nainta and Inderpal, Managing Director and Member Secretary Ram Kumar Gautam and government members.
