Government caught in the web of corruption and mafia rule: Jairam Thakur

Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, who participated in the Halla Bol protest against the anarchy and mafia rule of the state government, said that this government is caught in the web of mafia rule and corruption. Anarchy and corruption are prevalent everywhere in the state. Mafia rule is flourishing in the state under the protection of the government. Till date, corruption has not received such protection from the government. What is happening today has never happened in the state before and is not in accordance with the culture of Devbhoomi. Forest mafia is cutting lakhs of trees in the state and the government is giving protection instead of taking action against it. Also, the dominance of friends in the government is taking a toll on the interests of the state. Now bureaucracy has also joined it. Due to which honest, hardworking and sensible officers like Vimal Negi are not among us today. Sukhu government is a friend-friendly government instead of being a state-friendly government. It came to power on the basis of lies and wants to remain in power on the basis of lies and big lies.

The case of Dharampur is a unique example. Where thousands of tonnes of wood was cut and sold with the connivance of the forest department and no action was taken even after the complaint by the BJP. Which political party leader and his close ones’ name came up in this? In Baddi, a three kilometer long road was built by cutting the forest and mountains to take vehicles to the mining sites, the forest department kept sleeping. If a branch is cut from a common man, his life becomes difficult. How an SP level officer is harassed for taking action against illegal mining. This government has institutionalized corruption and mafia rule. Corruption allegations are being made even in the Chief Minister’s office. The person who has been arrested by the ED for mining goes to the CM’s office in the CM’s car. Even after this, the CM is not serious about these cases. This makes everyone’s intention clear. DC level officers are being accused of corruption. But instead of getting CID done on them, the government is getting CID done on the offices of opposition leaders. This is unfortunate.

The Leader of Opposition said that under this government, mining is being done on a war footing in broad daylight. Mountains have been dug up. The path of rivers and streams has been changed. Roads are in danger, the existence of big bridges is in danger. The area around the SP office is also being dug up by the mining mafia and despite the demands of taking action against the local people, the police does not even go to the spot. The chitta mafia has reached every corner of the state today. The drug mafia is getting protection from the government. 14 youths have died in this year alone. In the two-year tenure in the state, more than 180 murders, more than 600 rapes and more than 2500 thefts have taken place. Apart from this, the transfer mafia is flourishing in the state at this time. Can the transfer mafia work without the government?

There is a ban by the court on outsourced recruitment, but the mafia is extorting a lot in the state in the name of outsourcing. The way the scrap mafia is creating havoc in industries is not hidden from anyone. How the mafia is running rampant in the industrial city. How the industries are being extorted. How they are being intimidated. How they are being forced to migrate. How they are pleading for protection from the government and the government has turned a deaf ear to their voice. How big leaders are being named and asked for help in the name of exemption under section 118, but the government is stunned by this incident, no action is taken against those doing such work, what does this mean? That is why it is clear that the mafia rule prevailing in the state has the cooperation, support and protection of the government. Now the people of the state have raised an outcry against the government. We will not let this fight stop and will take account of every penny of the government’s corruption.
