During the inauguration, MLA Anuradha Rana shared her excitement, saying, “We’ve been hosting ice skating activities in Kaza for the past five years. This year, children in the under 8, 12, and 16 age groups are also competing in speed skating. The selected players will have the chance to compete at national and international levels. Events like these spark interest in sports among our youth and give them opportunities to shine in various ice skating games.”

She also highlighted the broader impact of such events, stating, “Adventure sports not only boost tourism but also reflect our government’s commitment to promoting sports. We’re investing 1.50 crore rupees to build a stadium in Kaza. In the future, we’ll develop more stadiums across the district, ensuring our children benefit from these facilities. It’s essential for our youth and children to actively participate in sports.”

The Ice Hockey Spiti Cup is more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of sports, community, and the promising future of young athletes in the region.
