CPM will fight against the anti-people policies in Shimla Municipal Corporation

An important meeting of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) regarding the election of the Shimla Municipal Corporation was held at the party office. In this, an election committee of 55 members was formed and Sanjay Chauhan was appointed as the convenor and Jagat Ram as the co-convenor. CPM will emerge as an alternative in the Municipal Corporation Shimla election by forming a front in this election against the anti-people neoliberal policies of BJP and Congress with alternative policies of public interest. This front will include those people who will run together with the party for these alternative policies.

In the election committee, Dr. Onkar Shad, Rakesh Singha, Kuldeep Singh Tanwar, Vijender Mehra, Falma Chauhan, Jagmohan Thakur, Satyawan Pundir, Rajindra Chauhan, Tikendra Panwar, Ram Singh, Balak Ram, Reena Singh, Anil Thakur, Mahesh Verma, Vijay Kaushal, Kishori Datwalia, Vinod Bisranta, Surinder Tanwar, Sonia Subarwal, Baldev, Himmi, Ramakant Mishra, Ramu, Raman Tharta, Dalip, Amit, Ashok Verma, Purna, Surendra Bittu, Babu Ram, Ranjeev Kuthiala, Neha, Vivek Raj, Jia Nand, Suresh Pundir, Seema, Kapil, Govind Chittaranta, Vivek Kashyap, Jai Shiv, Naveen, Hoshiyar, Surjeet, Harish, Ankush, Rajeev Thakur, Sanjeev Bhushan, Vishwabhushan, Dalip Kayath, Surinder Verma have been made members of the committee.

The CPM will contest in this election against the anti-people policies implemented by the BJP during the tenure of the previous Municipal Corporation, privatization, increasing economic burden by making services expensive, contract system, attack on the autonomy of Municipal Corporation, ban on recruitment of employees, etc. and With alternative policies in front of the public, it will give a strong alternative to BJP and Congress. In this election, the CPM is going to represent the people in front of the public on the basis of the work done in the 2007-12 Congress-ruled Municipal Corporation, 2012-17 CPM-led Municipal Corporation, and 2017-22 in the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation. Will go in front Privatization of BJP and Congress, making services costlier, contract practice, non-filling of vacant posts of employees and attack on the autonomy of Municipal Corporation, etc. will remain the main issues and development of Shimla city on the basis of alternative policies in Municipal Corporation under the leadership of CPM. Will make it an election issue to give new dimensions. *After 2012, under the leadership of CPM, the privatization of drinking water was stopped by the Municipal Corporation and an important plan to improve its supply was to get the project approved by the World Bank, fighting in the High Court to get the Smart City project approved for Shimla, Amrut project, Preparation of city mobility plan for ropeway and alternative transport, a project for beautification of Shimla city, parking, park, sports ground, installation of modern waste to the power plant, book cafe and other projects, public participation in the development of the city. The direction was given according to their aspirations.

CPM has been continuously fighting against the policies of privatization, inflation, unemployment, and inequality of the Municipal Corporation and the government and has been working for alternative policies. In this election too, the main focus will go among the public with these election issues.
