Company Commander Dinesh Kumar to be honoured with President’s Award for providing excellent services

The government of India has announced to giving of the President’s Award to Dinesh Kumar for his excellent services rendered while serving as Company Commander in the Himachal Home Guard and Civil Defence Department. This has been confirmed by Deputy Commander General Home Guard Arvind Parashar. Company Commander Dinesh Kumar was honored with the DGP Disc on the Foundation Day of Home Guard on December 6, 2024, last year. After the announcement of the President’s Award, there is a wave of happiness in the entire Junga city and he will be the first person from this area to receive the President’s Award.
Let us tell you that Dinesh Kumar is originally from Kadiyar village near Junga. In the year 1993, Dinesh Kumar was recruited as a Jawan in the Home Guard and Civil Defense Department. For providing excellent services, Dinesh Thakur was made a section leader in 1995, a platoon commander in the year 1999, and has been working as a company commander in the department since 2016. Currently, Dinesh Kumar is serving as a battalion administrative officer at the headquarters of the Himachal Home Guard. Dinesh Kumar served as an instructor in the departmental training center Junga from the year 2005 to 2016 i.e. for 11 years.
According to departmental sources, as a volunteer, Dinesh Kumar has performed many responsibilities including temple security, police station duties, traffic management, election duties, as well as natural disaster response operations. Especially in the year 2023, Dinesh Kumar played an important role as a team leader in conducting the operation and removing the bodies during the landslide caused by the cloudburst at Shivbavdi Temple Summerhill Shimla. Apart from this, he has played an important role in making people aware through mock drills about how to protect against natural disasters. Departmental officials say that Dinesh Kumar has discharged his responsibilities in the department with dedication, devotion, and honesty, for which he is truly an officer deserving of the President’s Award.
