Coldwave slightly improves in Himachal, rain and snow after four days

The Coldwave conditions slightly improvised in Himachal Pradesh as mercury increased one to two degrees from yesterday.

On Wednesday mainly sunny and dry weather improved coldwave conditions and day and night temperature was a couple of degrees higher than yesterday but it was normal.

Shimla Met Office said that the Minimum temperature of Keylong in Lahaul Spiti was minus five degrees and two degrees high yesterday.

Kalpa(Kinnaur) was minus 0.8, Manali & Mandi 1.4, Bhuntar airport 2.2, Tourist resort Narkanda 2.4, Kufri 4.7, Solan & Kangra 5.3, Una six, Shimla seven, Jubberhati airport, Dharmshala – Dalhousie 7 and Nahan 10.

Normal life in the state got a major reprieve from a shivering coldwave during the last three days in the state as the state has recorded thick layers of sleets, Rain, and snow, derailing normal life partly.

Indian Meteorological Department predicted rain or snowfall in the high reaches of Himachal Pradesh from December 11 onwards. State likely to witness mainly dry weather and mercury likely to decline in next 24 hrs.

Lahaul Spiti district administration said that traffic flow has increased from the Kullu -Manali and Manali-Leh highways after recent snowfall on the high reaches of Manali.

However administration cautioned the commuters that special precautions should be taken while driving on the snowbound roads in Lahaul Spiti district.

An advisory issued on Wednesday stated that the road and weather conditions should be considered while driving in the tribal district as black Ice has made the NH-3 slippery.

All vehicles of local are allowed without any restrictions. Only four by four Tourist vehicles are allowed to enter the district via ATR (vice-versa) from 0900 to 1500 hrs only till further orders.
