Centre implements new education policy with parting financial assistance to States: Dr. Anita Rampal

Lashing out Central BJP regime’s new educational policy flawed noted educationist Dr. Anita Rampal described that centre  implemented new policy in 2020 without parting sufficient financial assistance to the states.

Dr. Anita Rampal has reached Mandi to participate in the state level conference on the new education policy to be held in Mandi tomorrow on 28th October.

In a press conference held in Mandi today  Rampal said that nothing new is going to be achieved by more resourceful education policy without parting financial expenditure on it.

She said on the contrary, the public education system would become further weak if centre would not extends assistance with the state.

She said that policy would decline  the values of education like democratic, secular and social equality.

She said that this is the third education policy in independent India before this, education policy was also made in the year 1968 and 1986.

“In previous policies the target was set to spend six percent of the budget of the total gross domestic product, but till date this expenditure has remained at 2 to 3 percent. Same thing is happening.

But there has been no discussion about this in the current education policy. From which it is clear that the present government is going to further reduce the education budget.

In this policy, educational institutions have been given free rein to get education through private schools instead of the public education system and to charge arbitrary fees in them.

Overall, the new education policy has presented education like a commodity to be sold in the market in which only those who have the ability to buy will be able to get educated and common resource-less children will be deprived of it.

This education policy definitely talks about making India a world leader and There is also talk of establishment of ancient universities like Nalanda and Takshila here.

But there is no mention about what financial provisions there will be for this. At present, thousands of teacher posts are lying vacant in all the higher education institutions and there is no plan to fill them, so how will we become world leaders in such a situation.

Apart from this, this education policy has been made according to the implementation of the communal agenda of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and all types of syllabus are being changed accordingly from which democratic and secular values are being removed. Thus, this education policy is going to further weaken the level of education.

She  demanded  that in the new education policy, there should be a provision of 6 percent budget on education, strengthening of pre-school education and strengthening of Anganwadis as no emphasis on children below 9 years of age to learn more languages, ancient India.

In order to include the information given in the context on a logical and critical basis, to strengthen the public education system, to stop the declining level of higher education, democratic, secular, constitutional and scientific values should be included in the education policy on priority basis.

She said that to opposed the flawed policy Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti, teachers, students, women, youth labourers, school management committees and other social organizations are opposing this new education policy.

Dr. Anita Rampal, former president of Delhi University and national executive member of Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti, said this .
