BJP Will Retain Mandi Municipal Corporation : Jairam

Former Chief Minister and current Leader of the Opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, made it clear on Monday that the BJP isn’t about to lose its grip on the Mandi Municipal Corporation. “It belongs to us,” he said, “and we’re keeping it after the elections too.”

Speaking to reporters in Mandi, Thakur sounded confident that his party would come out on top again in the upcoming civic polls.

He didn’t hold back when attacking the Congress government in the state, accusing it of constantly sidelining Mandi district. “The people here have had enough,” he said. “They’re ready to teach Congress a lesson in this election and give them a clear verdict they won’t forget.”

Thakur pointed out that during the previous BJP government’s term, ₹15 crore was approved for Mandi town’s development. “But as soon as the current government took over, they pulled those funds. A direct blow to our growth. Now, people will pay them back for that injustice at the ballot box.”

He added that across Himachal, folks are deeply frustrated after three and a half years of Congress rule. “Even their own leaders are now openly criticising the government from public stages,” Thakur noted. “If they have any sense, they should take these warning signs seriously and change their ways.”

Thakur also had a blunt message for government officials: don’t bend rules just to please the ruling party. Stick to the law, or face the consequences.
