Classical music concert on Ravi Shankar birth anniversary 

Pratibha Spandan Charitable Sanstha Shimla organized a classical music concert on the occasion of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar’s birth anniversary on 7th April 2022 at Gaity Theater Shimla, in association with the Department of Language and Culture. In this program, world famous female Dhruvapad singer Prof. Madhu Bhatt Tailang, who came from Jaipur, presented ‘Dhruvpad’, an ancient and difficult singing style of Indian classical music. Presented by experiments of different lyricists. After this, specially on the occasion of Navratras, ‘Mori Sudh Lije Maa Bhavani’ was presented in Sultal. Dr. Ankit Parikh, a famous Pakhawaj player who came from Mathura with him, had a sweet association on Pakhawaj. In this program, Dr. Lalchand, the famous singer of Himachal Pradesh, added great accompaniment to the harmonium. In this program, world famous Panchatantri Bela player Pandit Ravi Shankar Bhatt Tailang, who came from Jaipur, Rajasthan, presented Raga Jhinjhoti in three talas in an enchanting style on his instrument. Also ended his program by playing a tune. Pandit Ravi Shankar Bhatt Tailang was honored with Life Time Achievement Award on this occasion. In the program, Dr. Sumit Singh Padam on his sitar playing presented Raga Shyam Kalyan’s Late Gat in three talas and Drut Gaat in nine quantities. He was accompanied on tabla by the famous tabla player of Himachal Pradesh Shri Rajesh Bhatti ji. The young budding artist of Himachal, Mr. Rishabh Verma enthralled everyone by presenting three talas under solo tabla . Shreya Bharadwaj and Shweta Bharadwaj accompanied on Tanpura. Mrityunjay Sharma, President of Pratibha Spandan Sanstha said that Pratibha Spandan Sanstha organizes various programs from time to time for the upliftment of Indian music, art and culture. The chief guest in this program was Dr. Pankaj Lalit, Director Language and Culture Department, Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Keshav Sharma, disciple of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar ji and Dr. Harvinder Sharma, disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khan ji were present as special guests. Music lovers, student teachers, etc. from different regions of Himachal were present in this Program.
