On International Youth Day, Himachal’s Lalit Kumar Dogra to Represent India in Russia
NSS National Awardee Dogra invited to the Tyumen region for the ‘New Generation’ and ‘Discover Your Russia’ programs
Lalit Kumar Dogra, a youth leader, social worker, and NSS National Awardee from Himachal Pradesh, will represent India in Russia on the occasion of International Youth Day. He has been invited as an international delegate for an international youth program to be held in the Tyumen region of Russia.
Lalit Kumar Dogra received this opportunity under an international youth exchange program associated with the BRICS Youth Alliance and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) of Russia. He will travel to Russia as an international delegate for the ‘New Generation’ program and will participate in the ‘Discover Your Russia’ program.
This program will be held in the Tyumen region of Russia from August 12 to 18, 2026, where selected and invited youth delegates from various countries will participate.
This representation in Russia marks another significant chapter in Lalit Kumar Dogra’s journey of international youth leadership. Prior to this, he represented India at an international program associated with the United Nations Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum, Asia-Pacific (UNRBHR), held at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Lalit Kumar Dogra began his journey of youth leadership and social service through the National Service Scheme (NSS). His continuous work related to youth participation, volunteering, community development, environmental conservation, and social causes has received recognition at the national level.
His major achievements include the NSS National Award 2019–20. This honor, received in the field of national service and social contribution, is one of the pivotal milestones in his youth leadership journey.
His journey, which started with grassroots volunteering, has today reached national and international youth platforms.
Lalit is currently working as a Youth Coordinator in the Urban Youth Unit of the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) based in New Delhi. The National Institute of Urban Affairs is an autonomous body functioning under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
In his current role, Dogra is contributing to tasks related to the welfare, engagement, leadership, capacity building, and youth-centric initiatives for urban youth. His work focuses on connecting youth with urban development, social participation, and the processes of positive change.
Will Share the Experience of India’s Youth Leadership in Russia
The program, organized in the Tyumen region from August 12 to 18, 2026, will provide a shared international platform to youth delegates from various countries. During the program, participants will get an opportunity to understand Russian culture, society, youth initiatives, and various sectors, along with engaging in international youth cooperation and the exchange of experiences.
On this international platform, Lalit Kumar Dogra will share his experiences related to India’s youth power, volunteering, social development, and urban youth engagement.
His grassroots experience gained through NSS, participation in international forums, and current work experience in the field of urban youth development at the national level will provide him the opportunity to present a comprehensive picture of India’s youth leadership.
