People set a unique example by constructing four rooms in Chambidhar School
It is said that if society unites and undertakes a noble cause, even the most daunting challenges become easy. The people of the Chambidhar area of the Rajgarh block have proven this saying. To address the lack of a building at the Shaheed Kamna Ram Government Senior Secondary School in Chambidhar, local residents, former students, social workers, and teachers took a collective initiative to construct four rooms. Approximately two lakh rupees were spent on this project.
The most remarkable aspect of this initiative was that instead of having a minister or special guest dedicate the newly constructed building to a minister on Navratri, the school’s eighth-grade orphan student, Pooja, was the one who inaugurated the newly constructed building. Through this initiative, the villagers sent an inspiring message of equality, sensitivity, and human dignity to society.
Social worker and retired police officer Kamal Dutt Sharma said that the old school building had been declared unsafe by the department. Due to this, there was difficulty in providing adequate and safe rooms for the students to study. Seeing this problem of the children, instead of depending on the government, the local people decided to come forward and solve it themselves. People contributed financially as per their capacity. Meanwhile, masons, painters and other artisans, who were among the former students of the school, also contributed to the construction work by offering their services. Along with financial support, people also donated their labour, due to which the construction of four rooms was possible.
Kamal Dutt Sharma said that this building, constructed with public support, will help provide better educational facilities to students. This initiative by the villagers has proven that through collective will and public participation, problems in the field of education can be solved.
On this occasion, school principal Anjali Sood, SMC president Surendra Thakur, former teacher Meera Sharma, Baldev Barothi, Roop Singh Shastri, Mahesh Sharma, Brijmohan along with all the school staff members and a large number of villagers were present.
