Auckland House School leads the way in student health protection

Cervical cancer vaccination drive successfully concluded

The cervical cancer vaccination drive held at Auckland House School concluded successfully. With this initiative, the school joins a select group of educational institutions in the region that have voluntarily offered cervical cancer vaccination to female students.

This vaccination program was part of the school’s broader health awareness initiative, which aims to raise awareness among students and parents about the prevention and timely detection of cervical cancer. The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is considered highly effective in preventing this disease, which is one of the leading cancers in women globally. In this context, the school previously held awareness sessions to educate students about the importance of the HPV vaccine and its long-term health benefits.

According to the organizers, a total of 111 female students participated in this vaccination campaign. Of these, 25 received the quadrivalent vaccine and 86 received the nonavalent vaccine, which provides protection against several types of HPV viruses and helps reduce the risk of cervical cancer in the future.

Speaking on the occasion, the school’s Principal, Samarki Samantha Roy, commended the positive participation of students and parents, stating that such initiatives in schools are important steps toward raising awareness about students’ health and ensuring their secure future. She added that the responsibility of educational institutions is not limited to academic development; it is equally important to ensure the overall health and well-being of students.

The successful conduct of this vaccination drive by Auckland House School has not only taken a significant initiative towards protecting the health of the girl students but has also set a positive example for other educational institutions to encourage such health initiatives.
