Balg team won the title of cricket competition
The three-day Under-17 cricket tournament, organized by Karoli Public School, Koti, in the village of Chikhar in the Mashobra block, concluded on Sunday. Fifteen teams from various parts of Shimla district participated. The team from Balg village in Theog tehsil defeated the Chikhar team in the final to win the trophy. Harichand Sharma, the drug coordinator of the Animal Husbandry Department, presided over the closing ceremony, and prizes were distributed to the winner and runner-up.
In his address, Harichand Sharma said that sports are very important in human life, which not only helps in the physical, intellectual and mental development of the youth but also creates a new positive thinking in the youth which proves useful in achieving their life goals. He appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs and use their youth power for good works, especially social service, so that the creation of a healthy society becomes possible.
Earlier, Rajesh Sharma, Founder and Principal of Karoli Public School, welcomed the chief guest and provided detailed information about the event. He stated that the primary purpose of this cricket tournament was to provide a platform for children to showcase their hidden talents. He thanked all the teams for participating. He stated that Karoli Public School, Koti, will continue to host cricket tournaments in the near future.
