Revitalizing Rural Roads: Ghumarvi Embraces Modern Technology for Safer Journeys

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Local MLA and Technical Education Minister, Shri Rajesh Dharmani, two key rural roads in the Ghumarvi Assembly constituency have been transformed. With an investment of approximately ₹11.52 crores, the upgraded stretches are now bringing smoother, safer, and more reliable travel to the community.

The Upgraded Corridors:

· Targhel-Ladour Road: Stretching about 7 kilometers, this upgrade involved an investment of around ₹6.5 crores.
· Gahar-Ket Link Road: Also approximately 7 kilometers long, this road saw an investment of about ₹5.16 crores.

A Community Connected:
The benefits of this project ripple across the region. The Gahar-Ket road directly improves connectivity for nearly eight villages, including Gahar, Mohana, and Ket. Similarly, the Targhel-Ladour road serves close to a dozen villages. For farmers, gardeners, and local producers, this means easier and more efficient access to markets, giving a boost to the local economy.

A Leap Forward with FDR Technology:
These roads were rebuilt using an innovative and sustainable method called Full Depth Reclamation (FDR). This modern technique is a game-changer for rural infrastructure:

· Sustainable: It reuses materials from the old roadbed, minimizing waste and environmental impact.
· Durable: The process creates a stronger, more resilient road foundation designed to last.
· Cost-Effective: It optimizes resources, providing long-term value.
The construction included comprehensive work like building culverts, laying paver blocks, and applying specialized surface coats to ensure longevity. Importantly, funds have also been secured for the maintenance and inspection of these roads for the next five years.

A Vision for Progress:
Minister Rajesh Dharmani expressed his satisfaction with the project, highlighting its dual benefits. “The upgrade of these roads through FDR technology ensures better mobility for a large population,” he said. “Furthermore, by reusing old materials, we not only reduce construction needs but also lessen the environmental footprint.”

He added that Himachal Pradesh is committed to adopting such progressive techniques to keep pace with global standards in infrastructure development. “Roads are the lifelines of our state,” he emphasized. “We are focused on building and maintaining them with the best available technology, like FDR, for a safer and more connected future.”

With these newly revitalized roads, travel in the Ghumarvi area has become noticeably smoother and safer, marking a significant step forward in local development and everyday convenience for its residents.
