Nearly 400 meritorious students honoured at annual function at Chiyog School

The Government Senior Secondary School for Excellence, Chiyog, celebrated its annual prize distribution ceremony with great enthusiasm. Local head Dinesh Jagta attended as the chief guest, while social worker and businessman Tinky Sharma and Amit Sharma were present as special guests. The program began with the lighting of lamps. The meritorious students were eager and excited to receive their awards since morning. Nearly four hundred prizes were awarded to students who achieved the highest positions in academic, cultural, sports, and other activities during the last academic session. The Gyan Deepika souvenir, published by the school, was also released on this occasion.
Principal Sandeep Sharma, while presenting the school’s annual report, said that in the last academic session, Aastha secured first place in the Arts subject with 96.4 percent, Astik secured 85.6 percent in Commerce and Vanshika secured 79 percent in Science in the 12th class examination of the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board, bringing laurels to the school. Similarly, in the 10th class, Aarti secured first place with 93.4 percent and Sania secured second place with 93 percent.
He informed that in the robotics lab of the school, students are being made to do various types of inventions and discoveries. Chiyog School has got the top position among the 100 best schools of the state in Eco Club. In sports activities, 11 players in the under 19 category from this school, 14 players in the boys category and 14 players in the girls category, were selected for the state level competition. Out of these, Ishita has been selected for the kurash competition and Sejal has been selected for the national level in karate.
The school’s students, dressed in captivating costumes, enthralled the audience with their performances. The entire pandal was abuzz with the sound of Pahari Naati.
In his address, chief guest Principal Dinesh Jagta said that the primary school was established in Chiyog in 1951. Over time, the school’s status has grown. He said that over the past 75 years, countless brilliant students have attended this school and contributed to various fields, including government, non-government, and political. Teachers Harikrishna Sharma and Babita Sharma captivated the audience with their excellent stage management.
SMC head Ramesh Verma, Mohan Chandel, Kaliram Dhiman, Geeta Ram Verma, Virendra Sharma, Dr. Dayanand Sharma, Bhandari Lachhi Ram, Shyam Singh Verma, Hira Singh Jagta, Gopal Sharma along with teachers of local and nearby schools, parents, social workers, representatives of various women’s and youth’s organizations were present in the program.
