Chilly Mornings, Sunny Days: Himachal Embraces a Crisp, Clear November
Himachal Pradesh is currently basking in clear skies and golden sunshine, but don’t let the bright days fool you — the chill in the air is unmistakable. With minimum temperatures dipping below freezing in several regions, winter has made its presence felt across the hill state.
According to the Meteorological Department, there’s no rain or snowfall expected in the coming days. The weather is expected to remain dry and sunny across the state until November 17, offering a perfect window for travelers and locals to enjoy the outdoors — albeit with a warm jacket in tow.
Despite the sunshine, the cold snap from earlier snow and rain on November 4–5 continues to linger. Higher altitudes have already seen snowfall, triggering cold wave conditions. In places like Sundernagar and Bilaspur, a light fog added to the wintry feel.
Tabo emerged as the coldest spot, recording a bone-chilling -4.5°C, followed closely by Keylong (-3.0°C) and Kukumseri (-2.9°C). Other popular towns like Shimla (9.0°C), Manali (2.7°C), and Dharamshala (9.8°C) also reported brisk mornings.
On the warmer side of the spectrum, Una topped the charts with a maximum temperature of 27.6°C, making it the warmest place in the state. Most regions saw daytime highs ranging from 10°C to 28°C, offering a pleasant contrast to the frosty nights.
While the mercury may not be plunging dramatically in the coming days, the early signs of winter are unmistakable. Whether you’re sipping tea in Shimla or trekking through the valleys of Kullu, Himachal’s crisp November air is a gentle reminder that snow season is just around the corner.
