Centre approves 2271 Cr for the fourth phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana: Kashyap
Former BJP State President and MP Suresh Kashyap said that the Congress Party and its leaders do not thank the central government, but they do say that the money coming from the central government is their right. The BJP would like to say simply that if the central government does not provide funds, the pace of development in Himachal Pradesh will slow down. The central government still has a major contribution to Himachal’s progress.
He said that Himachal Pradesh has received approval for ₹2,271 crore under the fourth phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. The entire BJP leadership expresses its gratitude to the central government, PM Modi, and Union Minister Nadda for this. Work will be undertaken on 294 new and existing roads spanning 1,438 kilometers in the state. While the fourth phase of the PMGSY has approved the construction of some new roads, funding will be provided for upgrading some existing roads. This phase will connect villages with a population of more than 250. Shimla district has received the highest number of roads under this project, with 97 approved. These roads are 474 kilometers long and will cost ₹669 crore. Work will then be undertaken on 65 roads each in Kullu and Chamba districts. In Chamba, 65 roads totaling 228 kilometers have been approved, costing ₹554 crore. Kullu district has also received approval for 65 roads, totaling 406 kilometers and costing ₹564 crore. In other districts, Bilaspur district will have four roads totaling 19 kilometers, costing ₹30 crore. Hamirpur district has received approval for two roads totaling 7 kilometers and costing ₹10 crore. Kangra district has received approval for 12 roads totaling 23 kilometers and costing ₹47 crore. Similarly, Kinnaur has eight roads totaling 64 kilometers, costing ₹96 crore. Lahaul-Spiti will have two roads totaling 30 kilometers, costing ₹64 crore. Mandi district has received approval for 23 roads totaling 115 kilometers, costing ₹130 crore. Similarly, in Sirmaur district, 11 roads totaling 59 kilometers will be constructed, costing ₹86 crore. In Una district, two 5-kilometer roads have been approved, costing ₹9 crore. Thus, a total of 294 roads totaling 1,438 kilometers have been approved. Some of these will be new roads and others will be upgrades to existing roads.
