SFI Takes Out Tricolor Rally in Shimla, Labels Modi Government Fascist; Calls on People to Unite
The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) Himachal Pradesh State Committee organized a Tricolor Rally today in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, on the occasion of Independence Day. Approximately 300 students participated in the rally and conveyed the message of national unity, democracy, and the protection of the Constitution.
SFI launched a sharp attack on the policies of the central Modi government, alleging that the current government is attempting to weaken democratic rights and suppress the voice of the people. Labeling the Modi government as a representative of fascist forces, SFI called upon the country’s people, students, youth, workers, farmers, and ordinary citizens to unite and struggle for the protection of democracy and public rights.
SFI State President Comrade Anil Thakur said that independence is not limited to freedom from British rule alone, but rather means ensuring equal rights, education, employment, dignity, and democratic freedom for every citizen. He said that today, students and youth must raise their voices in an organized manner against the privatization of education, unemployment, inflation, and the growing pressure on democratic institutions in the country.
On this occasion, SFI Himachal Pradesh State Secretary Comrade Sunny Sekta, Himachal Pradesh In-charge and All India Vice President Comrade Subhash Jakhar, CEC member Comrade Abhijeet, along with other SFI office bearers and activists were present.
During the Tricolor Rally, students raised slogans such as “Freedom, Democracy, Socialism” as well as slogans in support of democracy, education, employment, and public rights.
The SFI Himachal Pradesh State Committee called upon the student-youth power of the state to unite and strengthen the struggle on issues of education, employment, democratic rights, and social justice.
The General Secretary of SFI Himachal Pradesh expressed gratitude to all the students and activists who participated in the Tricolor Rally and said that the student community will further strengthen its role in protecting the country’s democratic and secular values. He said that SFI will further expand its struggle on issues concerning students and the general public in the times ahead.
