Northern India’s famous Chheenj fair in Talai on 28 September

The famous Chheenj fair of North India, Talai, will be celebrated as per tradition on 28 September at Talai near Fagu. To see this Chheenj, people from Shimla district as well as Solan, Sirmaur, in lakhs, flock here.
Dinesh Jagta, Pradhan of Chiyog Panchayat and Chairman of the Mela Management Committee, said that this Chheenj fair is being celebrated since ages in the name of the revered goddess of the region, Deshu Kali Mata, and is organized by three Panchayats, Chiyog, Dehna and Dadhas. This Chheenj is organized every year on the last week of September or the first Sunday of October.
He told that this year the wrestler who wins the Badi Mali will be given a prize of 1.51 lakhs. Apart from this, this year Himachal Kesari Award has been kept for Himachali young wrestlers in which the Himachali wrestler will get a prize of 25 thousand for which the maximum age limit of the wrestler has been kept 21 years. Dinesh Jagta told that the fair committee has also kept a lucky draw in the fair. In which Alto K-10 car has been kept as the first prize.
He said that the state’s famous wrestler and social worker Nahar Singh Chaudhary will participate in the fair as the chief guest. He said that the sponsor of Badi Mali will be Ajit Gehlot RAC Delhi and the sponsor of Himachal Kesari Award will be Heera Singh Jagta.
