Construction of Kharapathar tunnel will give a new dimension to Himachal’s connectivity: Suresh Kashyap

Suresh Kashyap met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and raised the demand for construction of Kharapathar Tunnel.

Suresh Kashyap, MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla Parliamentary Constituency met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and strongly raised the demand for construction of Kharapathar Tunnel.

Kashyap said that this tunnel will not only facilitate travel but will also prove to be a milestone for apple growers, tourism and economic development of the region. The Kharapathar tunnel is extremely necessary for lakhs of farmers and orchardists of the Jubbal-Kotkhai region.

He said that the current road is extremely risky due to difficult terrain, heavy snowfall and sharp turns. If this tunnel is constructed, the travel time will be reduced by 40 percent, which will enable apples and other horticultural products to reach the markets on time. Along with this, this tunnel will also promote tourism and strengthen the local economy.
