Former Rajasthan MLA Attar Singh Badhana and Father of DC Lahaul Spiti Dies After Alleged Assault
Former Rajasthan MLA and prominent Gujjar leader Attar Singh Badhana, father of Lahaul-Spiti Deputy Commissioner Kiran Badhana (IAS), died after allegedly being assaulted during a dispute linked to a crusher plant in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district.
According to reports, tensions had been brewing over mining activities associated with a crusher plant in Bhonda village. The situation reportedly turned violent on Sunday when a large group of villagers allegedly attacked the site, leaving Attar Singh Badhana seriously injured.
He was immediately shifted to a hospital in Jaipur for treatment. However, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries late on Sunday night, reportedly around 11:30 pm.
Attar Singh Badhana had represented the Bayana Assembly constituency in Rajasthan and was a well-known leader within the Gujjar community.
The incident has sparked shock and grief among political and administrative circles. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Lahaul-Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana and former MLA Ravi Thakur have expressed their condolences and mourned the untimely demise of the veteran leader.
Police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and the dispute that led to the tragic incident.

The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with them in this hour of grief. He prayed to the almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and give strength and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Governor Kavinder Gupta today expressed deep grief over the untimely demise of Attar Singh Bhadana, former MLA and father of Deputy Commissioner, Lahaul-Spiti, Kiran Bhadana.
The Governor also spoke with Kiran Bhadana over the phone and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
The Governor prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
