In Himachal Pradesh, technical and vocational education is no longer just about earning a diploma—it’s about unlocking real opportunities. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the State Government has sparked a transformation that’s helping thousands of young people turn their aspirations into careers.

Real Jobs, Real Impact
Over 12,000 students have landed jobs through job fairs, campus placements, and joint recruitment drives. Meanwhile, more than 14,000 students and 1,200 faculty members have embraced digital learning through platforms like MOOCs and SWAYAM, gaining access to world-class education from their own towns and villages.

Institutions That Empower, Not Just Educate
Across Himachal, 348 technical institutions—including engineering and pharmacy colleges, polytechnics, and ITIs—are now hubs of innovation and skill-building. New colleges in Sulah and Jandaur are bringing quality education to underserved areas, while cutting-edge courses in AI, Data Science, Electric Vehicle Technology, and Mechatronics are preparing students for the jobs of tomorrow.

Training for the Future
Himachal is one of the few states training Drone Service Technicians, with 128 students already certified. This isn’t just futuristic—it’s happening now.

Industry Partnerships That Open Doors
With over 170 MoUs signed with industry partners, students are gaining hands-on experience through internships, apprenticeships, and real-world projects. Schemes like NATS and NAPS allow them to earn while they learn, making education both practical and rewarding.

Modern Campuses, Smarter Learning
Thanks to the Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Project, 50 ITIs, a Polytechnic, and an Engineering College have received upgraded machinery and equipment worth nearly ₹81 crore. Smart classrooms, solar-powered campuses, and energy-efficient tools are turning these institutions into green, tech-savvy learning spaces.

Sustainability Meets Innovation
From solar street lights to power-saving inverters, the government is investing in infrastructure that’s both modern and eco-friendly. These upgrades aren’t just about aesthetics—they’re about creating environments where students can thrive.

A Vision That’s Delivering Results
The reforms are more than just plans on paper. They’re reshaping how education works—focusing on skills, innovation, and employability. Himachal Pradesh is emerging as a model state in technical and vocational education, giving its youth the tools to compete globally and build a brighter future at home.
