Women’s group demanded an end to the illegal sale of liquor in the village

Women from the Matrishakti Gram Sangathan organized a protest rally in the newly formed Gram Panchayat, Dhali Bagda, in Junga tehsil, to protest the murder of Siya in Gopalpur, Sarkaghat, and the shooting of a woman in Rohru. They demanded justice for Siya and Ritika and the closure of illegal liquor shops.
On this occasion, former head Kiran Sharma and Poonam Thakur stated that atrocities against women are increasing day by day, making them feel unsafe. They added that innocent college student Siya was brutally murdered by a drunken killer in Gopalpur, Sarkaghat. Similarly, two days ago, a woman was shot dead at a religious event in Rohru. They questioned who authorized the carrying of weapons at public gatherings. Due to the negligence of the administration and police, an innocent woman lost her life. They demanded that the government impose a complete ban on carrying weapons to public events to prevent the recurrence of such heinous crimes.
The Mahila Mandal has demanded that the government take strict measures to curb the increasing crimes against women so that women can live with dignity and fear in society. Additionally, the women have demanded a ban on the illegal sale of alcohol in rural areas. The women stated that the illegal sale of alcohol in villages is driving youth into drug addiction, leading to an increase in domestic violence.
The women expressed their gratitude to Rural Development Minister Aniruddh Singh and former Peeran Panchayat head Attar Singh for establishing the new Mahila Mandal. On this occasion, Attar Singh Thakur handed over the keys to the new building to the Mahila Mandal.
