Under-14 zonal sports competitions concluded in Durgapur
The Mashobra block’s under-14 boys and girls zonal sports competition, which had been going on for the past four days at the Government Senior Secondary School, Durgapur, concluded on Sunday. With an excellent performance in the competition, the Government Senior Secondary School, Mashobra, won the title of All-Round Best School. During the four-day competition, 419 students from 18 schools of the Mashobra block participated in various sports and cultural events, showcasing their talent.
Durgapur School Principal Ashwani Kumar and Sports Incharge Nandlal Sharma said that Mashobra won the volleyball trophy in boys category and Peeran School in girls category. HD School Janedghat won the Kabaddi trophy in boys category and RPS Baldeyan won the girls category. Peeran School performed brilliantly by winning the trophy in both boys and girls categories of Kho-Kho. Baldeyan School won in both boys and girls categories of badminton.
Mashobra School stood first in Yoga in both boys and girls category, while Baldeyan School secured first position in Rhythmic Yoga in girls category. MPM Mashobra stood first in Chess in boys category and HD Janedghat in girls category. Baldeyan won the Judo in boys category and Mashobra School won in girls category. Peeran won the first position in the speech competition in boys category and Baldeyan in girls category. MES Mashobra stood first in one act play in boys category and RPS Baldeyan in girls category.
RPS Baldeyan won first place in the group singing category for boys and MPS Mashobra won first place in the girls category. RPS Baldeyan won first place in the folk dance category for boys and Mashobra School won first place in the girls category.
Social worker Arun Chauhan attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest, while District Council member Om Prakash Thakur of Baldeyan Ward was the special guest. The chief guest honored the winners and outstanding performers with prizes.
Principal Ashwani Kumar welcomed the chief guest and explained the arrangements made for the successful conduct of the competition. He expressed his gratitude to the various departments, schools, local residents, and other partners who supported the competition.
On this occasion, Panchayat Samiti Mashobra Chairman Tara Chand Thakur, BDC member Rita, Aroma Valley Chairman Manvindra Singh, principals of various schools, physical teachers, players and a large number of school children were present.
